After a first-round bye she will face either Ajla Tomljanovic or Zhang Shuai.
Sakkari and Badosa Need Wins to Get to Dallas
The Race to the WTA Finals is heating up, and Maria Sakkari and Paula Badosa need some points to get in the mix. The Greek is currently ranked 10th, and Spain’s Badosa is ranked 11th. Meanwhile Daria Kasatkina, currently seventh, will look to solidify her position for the season-ending event, which takes place from October 31 to Nov 7 in Dallas Fort Worth.
Kasatkina and Swiatek are the only two players in the draw that currently find themselves in qualifying positions.
